Note:
Marco created his own glaze recipes, tested their firing performance on thousands of test tiles--criss-crossing glazes above and below one another to determine their predictability; rolled his own clay; rendered his own designs; cut out the tile forms; and built his on kiln for double firing them. My father assured me the pieces would retain their brilliance and strength even if they sat at the bottom of the sea for 100 years--as high fired ceramics sometimes do.
